AMERICAN HEROES: Police ‘CONFRONTED’ Texas Shooter Within 4 Minutes
Local police “confronted” the 17-year-old shooter at the Santa Fe High School in southeast Texas within four minutes last Friday; taking the suspect into custody and ending the deadly attack that could have claimed countless more lives.
According to the New York Times, the police response to the assault “followed the playbook” on how to confront a mass shooting, with two officers stationed at the High School responding to reports of “shots fired” within seconds.
“Luckily, the body count’s not higher,” said Sheriff Trochesset, adding the two officers “contained and engaged” suspect Dimitriros Pagourtzis in a confined area as authorities descended on the scene.
“It was contained in that one area, which saved so many lives,” he added. “And again, I’m going to take it personal: three doors down, my granddaughter was in that room. I think they’re heroes, everybody that was out there that stayed engaged with him.”
Despite the quick reaction and heroic decisions made by police, ten people lost their lives; including nine students and one teacher.
