Plant of the Week - Fourth of July Tomato

It is the 4th of July Weekend, so this week, our pick is pretty simple; it’s one of my favorite tomatoes, Fourth of July! Why one of my favorites? It’s easy to grow. More folks who grow these come back later and tell me how successful they were, and how tasty the tomatoes were! And did I mention they are one of the first tomatoes to ripen, usually by the Fourth of July (49-54 days)! Bred by Burpee, this hybrid indeterminate tomato produces a big harvest of very tasty small to medium sized tomatoes around 4 ounces or so – perfect for the salad, small slices, or eating off the vine. And they will produce all summer long! Dependable, early ripening, good disease resistance, high volume of tomatoes, and great flavor.   What more could you ask for in a tomato? Happy 4th of July!
