The Facebook group "KD GoldenYears" devoted to Kings Dominion's history posted some photos Tuesday with the title, "47 years ago today, Kings Dominion made its grand opening!".
I remember the summer it opened. Not sure if we went that year or if it was later. But I remember the lake and the early rides and early shows...the lake is gone now. And the early Hanna-Barbara characters, Yogi Bear, etc. The park, north of Richmond just off I-95 has been around since 1975. See the photos HERE
