The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to various media sources that there was an officer-involved shooting following a pursuit of a wanted suspect in the area of Spring Creek Road and Thomas Spring Road west of Bridgewater. The pursuit ended after shots were fired. The suspect has since been pronounced dead at the scene.
The scene of the shooting near Spring Creek Road and Thomas Spring Road is currently blocked by police, fire and rescue services and motorists should avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
