...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT
TO NOON EST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6
inches.
* WHERE...Portions of central and northwestern Virginia.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to begin between midnight
and 3 AM, and may briefly mix with rain at first to the east of
the Blue Ridge Mountains. The heaviest snow is expected between
5 AM and 9 AM, when visibility may be reduced to a quarter mile
and snowfall rates could reach one inch per hour.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
