* WHAT...1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet in the valleys below
1500 feet, with 2 to 5 inches of snow and sleet in the ridges
above 1500 feet. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice from freezing
rain is also expected along the ridges above 1500 feet.
* WHERE...Augusta County, Rockingham County, and the Central
Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, and eastern
Pendleton County in West Virginia.
* WHEN...From 8 AM today until midnight EST tonight. Snow will
overspread the area between 7 AM and 10 AM this morning. Snow
will mix with sleet and rain between 1 PM and 4 PM this
afternoon and the wintry mix will continue into this evening
before precipitation ends. Rain will freeze on some surfaces,
especially across the higher elevations in the Blue Ridge
Mountains.
