The search continues for a man wanted in connection to a shooting that left a Staunton woman dead, police reported late Saturday evening.
22-year-old Orion Painter — now charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony — is considered armed and dangerous.

According to police, it was first reported at 1:30 p.m. When officers arrived to the scene in the west side of Staunton, not far from W. Beverly St. near Food Lion, a 37-year-old Staunton woman identified as Melanie Wade was found with a gunshot wound. Painter is being charged for aggravated malicious wounding.
