Harrisonburg Mayor Deanna Reed has been selected to serve on Governor-Elect Abigail Spanberger’s transition committee, a group tasked with helping prepare the incoming administration before its January inauguration in Richmond.
The transition team, called “United for Virginia’s Future,” brings together more than 80 leaders from across the state. Reed said she’s honored to represent Harrisonburg at the statewide level, noting that the committee role reflects the local progress already taking place in the city.
In announcing the group, Spanberger emphasized that its members will help her administration start strong and stay focused on Virginians’ needs from the first day in office.
