A Dominion Power outage that caused the lights to go out for around 3000 northern Rockingham county residents in the Broadway-Timberville area Sunday evening was caused by a transformer fire at its Timberville substation.
The outage caused local businesses such as Food Lion and Walmart to close for the evening.
Power was restored around 8 p.m. Sunday evening although Dominion Power workers continued repairs and clean up into Monday morning.
