Augusta County Fire and Rescue released a statement online about the overnight fire August 18th at the Love's Travel Center in Greenville that was reported about 2:30 a.m. The fire was located in the Chester's chicken location in the rear of the restaurant storage area. The restaurant sustained considerable damage. Love's and the attached McDonalds sustained minimal smoke damage according to the report. No injuries were reported.
Fire company's from Riverheads, ACFR, Stuarts Draft, Middlebrook, Staunton Raphine and Swoope responded to the blaze.
The cause of the fire was improper storage of oily rags.
