Photos: Fire destroys unoccupied buildings in Shenandoah National Park

From Stanley FD Facebook: At approximately 02:48 AM Monday morning, (Stanley) Company 24 units were dispatched for a structure fire at Big Meadows Lodge. Chief 24 arrived on the scene of the BLACKROCK Lodge (a 10 unit building), a pickup truck, 3 golf carts and a maintenance building fully involved. Units remained on scene for several hours.

On scene to battle the blaze, the National Park Service and fire departments from Luray, Stanley, and Elkton responded.

The facilities have not opened for the 2022 season, so no occupants were affected. The BLACKROCK cabin, a maintenance building a vehicle and 3 golf carts were destroyed.
