Woman Demands Passports Of Spanish-Speaking Family At Virginia Restaurant

A white woman harassed a Guatemalan family inside of a Virginia restaurant for nearly ten minutes and demanded to see their passports. Video of the incident, which occurred last week at Andy's, an Italian restaurant in Lovettsville, went viral after it was shared by Telemundo44

In the video, the woman asks to see the passport of the woman filming. That woman shows it to her, but the woman then demands to see the passport of another man in the restaurant. She called the family "freeloaders" and told them to "get the f*** out, back to your f*****g country."

As the woman continues her rant, a man in a grey shirt comes over and asks her to leave. The woman slowly complied but continued shouting obscenities at the family as she was escorted out of the restaurant, finishing her tirade while standing on the front steps.

The police were called, but nobody was arrested as a result of the disturbance.

The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, told NBC Washington that her seven-year-old daughter witnessed the woman's angry outburst.

"It's not fair that they do this to us, and even less acceptable if there are children present. It's not fair for any child to have to go through that. You just don't do that," the woman explained.

She said that she hopes her story will help other victims of bias and racism speak out and share their stories.

The restaurant announced that they have banned the woman, calling her "a vile and loathsome individual" in a Facebook post
