Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards Release Ruthless Diss Track at Zach Bryan

Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, is no stranger to controversy and confrontation. His bold, unapologetic demeanor has landed him in plenty of public feuds—and his latest clash involves none other than country music star Zach Bryan. After Bryan abruptly ended his relationship with internet personality Brianna LaPaglia, better known as Brianna Chickenfry, Portnoy made it clear that he wasn’t a fan. "I was never a fan. I think he’s a fraud," Portnoy said on the “Unnamed Show” last week, openly expressing his disdain for the singer.

Teaming up with fellow Barstool co-host and social media influencer Josh Richards, Portnoy released a diss track aimed squarely at Bryan. The song, humorously titled “The Smallest Man”, dropped Tuesday night and is full of play’s on Bryan’s music and past romantic encounters.

The diss track doesn’t hold back, mocking Bryan’s reputation and referencing his split from LaPaglia. With lyrics like, "You just made a new rival—Pretty soon, you gonna need a Revival," Portnoy and Richards take direct shots at Bryan. They even included a clever jab at Bryan's popular song "28," twisting it into, "How lucky is Brie, to be free of ZB”. Throughout the track, Portnoy and Richards stand firmly by LaPaglia, showing their loyalty to their “BFFs” podcast cohost. Their support for her comes after LaPaglia’s high-profile romance with Bryan came to an unexpected and seemingly messy end.

This public feud showcases Barstool Sports' unique blend of entertainment and provocation, with Portnoy continuing to bring his signature bravado to the situation. As tensions between Barstool and Bryan escalate, one thing is certain: Portnoy and Richards aren’t backing down anytime soon. And for Zach Bryan, who has become the subject of Barstool's relentless humor, the drama might only be just beginning.
