Finnigan’s Cove Seafood Bar and Grill in downtown Harrisonburg is raising funds to protect a special member of our law enforcement team—a K-9 officer named Ares! This Belgian Malinois from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office needs a protective vest for his patrols with Lt. Lauren Chambers.

Donna Finnigan, the owner of Finnigan’s Cove, reached out to Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson to offer help. “These dogs keep our regular officers safe. Without them, officers could be shot or worse. The vests are crucial to keep the dogs safe,” she said. To support the cause, the restaurant is selling $20 family-style barbecue meals, which feed up to four people and include a pint of homemade pork, four buns, half a pint of coleslaw, and two homemade sauces.

You can pre-order by visiting Finnigan’s Cove at 30 W Water St. or calling 540-433-9874 during business hours. Orders will be ready for pickup from Nov. 5-8.
