Overnight flooding in Buchanan county has left damage and as many as 40 residents missing. Virginia Department of Emergency Services along with first responders from the surrounding area are responding to rescue.
Governor Youngkin tweeted: "I am deeply saddened at the devastating news of flooding in Buchanan County. We are making every resource available to help those impacted. While rescue and recovery operations continue, please join me in prayer as we lift up our fellow Virginians impacted by this tragedy."

More than 100 homes have reported flooding and flood damage. Local authorities are saying that flooding is more widespread thand during storm Hurley in 2021. Boil water notices have gone up in numerous parts of the county as well. Several bridges are reported out and mudslides have also affected the area
