The committee in charge of coming up with names for the second high school in Harrisonburg announced during Tuesday night’s school board meeting that they recommend the name South Ridge High School.
The committee’s chair, Kathy Copeland, revealed the name after over 550 responses totaling over 1,500 name suggestions were received from the public
Along with potential names, the public submitted color and mascot suggestions.
The school board will make the final decision on the name at its May meeting.
