According to the RTD ... BB&T Corp. and SunTrust Banks plan to merge in a $66 billion, all-stock deal according to an announcement on Thursday by the institutions.
Its being referred to as a merger of equals.
The combined company would operate under a new name and brand, which will be determined prior to completing the deal.
