The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has fielded complaints in the Mt. Torrey Road/Reeds Gap area from citizens and VDOT, specifically citing speeding on Mt. Torrey Road and Semi-trucks ignoring the signage prohibiting tractor-trailers from traversing the mountain via Reeds Gap and Love Road. In June, Deputies will be in the area addressing speeding and failure to obey highway signs (Tractor Trailers) complaints. The targeted area will be the upper end of Mt. Torrey Road near Reeds Gap. Tractor Trailers operators are reminded that Tractor Trailers are prohibited on Reed’s Gap Road to State RT 664 to RT 151 in Nelson County.Photo: Augusta County Sheriff's Department Facebook
