As of today, Masks now optional for Rockingham County students

With Governor Youngkin signing legislation Wednesday giving parents the right to opt their children out of wearing a mask at school, Rockingham County officials sent an email to parents later in the day that outlined that masks are now optional for students in Rockingham County Schools as of today.

Virginia school systems have until March 1, 2022 to implement the change.

The email did remind parents that masks are still required on system school buses until at least March 18th.

The CDC is expected to reevaluate its masking policy in mid March.
